Project: Dawoud Bey: Street Portraits Exhibition, 2024
Client/Organization: Denver Art Museum
Collateral: Title Wall Graphic, Artwork Labels, Gallery Panels
Design Notes: This exhibition showcased the photography work of New York-based artist Dawoud Bey, focused on his series of portraits made by individuals he met while explore neighborhoods in and around New York City and Washington DC in the late 1980s/early 1990s. I pulled inspiration from 1980s newspaper and ad design for the exhibition's title wall, leaning into minimalism and a clear serif so as not to distract from the intimacy of the portraits. Label design followed DAM's existing label guidelines.
